Musical Theatre for Adults
Musical Rehearsal & Performance, from age 16 upwards
Saturdays 13:00 – 15:00
Classes start 12/09/2026
Musical Theatre is a fun, energetic and creative class taught by an experienced, professionally trained singer and performer. Join a friendly international group in a supportive, positive atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to participate, develop and enjoy themselves — whatever your previous singing or performance experience.
Over two hours each week, we bring together singing, acting and dance to develop the skills needed to become a confident, versatile performer. You’ll work on vocal technique, projection, breath control, musical expression, movement, choreography, characterisation and stage presence, while learning songs and scenes from popular musicals.
But this is more than a weekly class. Students work together towards real productions and professional performance opportunities. Last year, the group took on the ambitious challenge of Spring Awakening, committing themselves so fully that students even arranged an additional weekly rehearsal outside normal class time. The result was an outstanding production — and the group will return to the show for another performance in February, in a professional theatre.
Then, in June, students will perform a full professional production of the musical we develop this year. The choice of show will be made according to the interests, preferences and capabilities of the group, giving students a genuine role in shaping the production they will ultimately perform.
Your teacher brings extensive professional experience to every class. Conservatory-trained, with ten years of experience at the Cuban National Opera, she is a professional singer who also performs with three bands. She combines high professional standards with an infectious enthusiasm for performance, creating classes that are demanding when they need to be, but always fun, encouraging and engaging. She knows how to bring out the best in each student while making the whole experience enjoyable.
We explore improvisation, ensemble work, character development and all the elements that make a performance memorable. Classes focus on collaboration as much as individual growth, so you’ll become part of a creative team working towards a shared goal.
Along the way, you’ll build confidence, creativity, resilience and stage presence — skills that extend far beyond the stage.
What to expect
On your first day, you’ll receive a warm welcome and get to know the group through some simple ice-breakers and introductory activities. We’ll explore breathing, projection and movement warm-ups, discover your vocal range and introduce basic music-reading in a relaxed and accessible way. From there, you’ll begin developing vocal and performance technique, learning choreography and working towards a complete musical production.
No matter your starting level, you’ll have the opportunity to develop as a performer, make great connections and experience the excitement of creating and performing a real show together.
